We had a really productive meeting today with Andrew Griffith MP the Minister of Exports with the Department for International Trade. (Many thanks to Darlington Farmers Auction Mart for hosting the visit at their impressive new site.)
Chaired by North Riding & Durham County Chair, William Maughan and joined by Clare Wise-Chapman, the meeting covered lots of ground with Mr Griffith really keen to support British farmers.
Some of the key points raised included the need for fair and balanced trade deals, more active agricultural attaches, more govt promotion of British food and farming, important analysis of key emerging markets + practical help and support to navigate the export process.
Mr Griffith also said he was keen to host a dairy export summit.
