Apprenticeship starts are up a whopping 40% in the first quarter of this year, which is fantastic news for our young people and our local economy.
This week, I had the opportunity to meet with the Education Secretary to discuss the government's plans to further invest in apprenticeships. I'm pleased to report that they're committed to increasing apprenticeship funding to £2.7 billion, and creating more opportunities in key trade sectors. This is a real investment in our future workforce, and I believe it will have a transformative impact on our community.
